STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department is seeking a highly talented individual to serve as the public address announcer for the upcoming football season as the voice of Allen E. Paulson Stadium. The primary responsibility of the position is to contribute to providing an excellent game day and memorable experience for student-athletes, coaches and Eagles fans.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
AVAILABILITY
The PA announcer will be required to work all six (6) 2018 home football games and the annual Blue-White Spring Football Game. This includes nights and weekends. The position is part-time.

Public address announcers report to Dan Adams, Director of Athletic Marketing and Gleen Hart, Senior Associate Athletics Director for Fan Experience and Community Relations. The public address announcer for Georgia Southern football is a position renewed on an annual basis by Georgia Southern Athletics.
HOW TO APPLY
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strong vocal talent, excellent enunciation skills and comfortable announcing to crowds of 25,000 people
- Experience working as a PA announcer in high school, collegiate or professional sports is preferred
- Ability to understand and follow the game, and make announcements about the on-field action (i.e. Pass complete by #4 Shai Werts to #9 Obe Fortune…he was tackled by #20 Kindle Vildor)
- Responsible for procuring a spotter and visiting team pronunciations for each home game
- Strong knowledge of NCAA football and its rules
- Ability to follow a script for sponsorship announcements, presentations, important importation, etc.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to be spontaneous and react quickly as appropriate
- A unique and definitive personality, while retaining the current Georgia Southern traditions
- Arrival for home games is 2 hours prior to kickoff
- Receptive to both positive and constructive feedback
