Quickly: Georgia Southern ends a second eight-day layoff by traveling to longtime in-state rival Mercer in Hawkins Arena. After playing five games in the first 13 days of the season, Georgia Southern has played just two games in the last 19. Georgia Southern has played Mercer more than any opponent in the 89-year history of the program (114 times). The Eagles lead the all-time series, which began in 1933, 74-40, but lost the last meeting 80-67 in 2016. It's the third time the Eagles will play in Hawkins Arena, which opened in 2005, and GS is 1-1 in the building.
