STATESBORO, Ga - The GATA Club invites all former athletics alumni from Armstrong State University for the 2018 Pirates' All-Sports Reunion on Saturday, November 10, 2018.
The reunion will include a pregame tailgate before Georgia Southern football takes on Troy in the final game of the season. Before kick-off, Pirates' alumni will also receive on-field recognition for their dedication to the Pirate Athletics program.
The Pirates' All-Sports Reunion will begin at 11 a.m. and will be located in the MC Lot at Allen E. Paulson Stadium and all former student-athletes, coaches, managers and athletic trainers are invited to attend.
Lisa Sweany, former Pirates director of athletics, believes this reunion is a perfect opportunity for former Pirates' athletics alumni to reconnect with one another.
"I hope this reunion event will not only help our former Pirate student-athletes remain involved with the new Georgia Southern but will also allow Eagles to meet, interact and find out the caliber of talented Alumni we were proud to produce at Armstrong. I think it's an important first step and I look forward to all Pirates and Eagles enjoying the weekend," Sweany stated. Sweany is now the deputy director of athletics for the Eagles at Georgia Southern.
Pirates' athletics alumni in attendance will receive one complimentary ticket to the football game and can also purchase additional family tickets in the Club Level for $45 or in sections JJ-KK or MM-NN for $20. Directions on how to claim and buy these tickets will be within the RSVP email confirmation. Those who RSVP by Friday, October 26 will also receive a complimentary pass for parking conveniently located next to the stadium.
Pirate alumni who are interested in attending must RSVP at GSEagles.com/Pirates.
The Pirates' All-Sports Reunion will be the first of many reunions for athletics alumni to reunite with one another, in addition to growing their network with Eagle alumni.
