Madrid, Spain | Camilo Jose' Cela University | Atletico Madrid
6-0 | 169 | Junior | Midfielder/Forward
Javier Carbonell comes to the Eagles after playing for two seasons at Camilo Jose' Cela University in Madrid, tallying 20 goals and seven assists in 2016 while helping his squad finish first in the Madrid Championship. Carbonell also played club soccer for Atletico Madrid for five seasons - two of them playing alongside fellow Eagle signee
Gonzalo Talavera.
Coach Murphy on Carbonell
"Javi is an experienced striker who should make an impact for us from the outset. His movement and energy are outstanding, while his instincts around the goal will open up chances for himself and his teammates. He can be deployed anywhere across the front and also as an attacking central midfielder. Regardless of position, Javi will compliment our attacking style of play both as a competitor and technician."
