Steven Fisk is tied for 12th.
ATLANTA - Junior Steven Fisk shot a 4-under 68 to lead the five-man contingent of Eagles competing in the 51st Dogwood Invitational at Druid Hills Golf Club in Atlanta.
Fisk, a native of Stockbridge and former Druid Hills employee, made the turn in 2-under 34. He made bogey at No. 10, but made up ground by going eagle-birdie at No. 14-15. He is tied for 12th.
Senior Archer Price shot a 71 and is tied for 35th. Senior Jake Storey and sophomore Brett Barron both finished at even-par 72. Barron made a nice comeback; he was 4 over after eight holes, but birdied No. 9 and shot 33 on the back nine, including a rare birdie on the 211-yard par 3 17th hole.
Incoming freshman Jacob Bayer opened with a 76.
The first-round leader is Bryson Nimmer of Clemson, who opened with a 7-under 65.
The 93-man field will be cut to the low 40 and ties after Thursday's second round. The winner receives an exemption into the Australian Masters of the Amateurs and the Canadian Amateur Championship.
