STATESBORO, Ga. – Tookie Brown collected 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Georgia Southern shot 52 percent from the field to earn a 106-51 men's basketball victory over Lees-McRae in an exhibition contest Thursday night in Hanner Fieldhouse.
Ike Smith tallied 15 points and four assists, and Shawn O'Connell posted 11 points and five rebounds. B.J. Gladden finished with 10 points and four boards, and Devonte Boykins dished out eight assists.
Cedriontis Wilson was the lone Bobcat in double figures in the points column with 12, while Chad Hicks and Lepreece Lynch each netted seven.
The story
The Eagles shot 57 percent in the second half and held Lees McRae 21 percent while outscoring the Bobcats 62-22. The explosion helped turn a 15-point halftime lead into the 53-point win.
After the teams traded buckets early in the second period, Georgia Southern took over the game with a 37-6 run that lasted 10:39, and a layup by Gladden made the score 85-39 with 7:30 left in the game.
