Coach hands out tickets around town to Saturday's home opener
STATESBORO, Ga. - You never know where you'll see Georgia Southern head football coach Willie Fritz around town as the energetic and charismatic coach is often seen chatting it up at local establishments and with Eagle fans. Tuesday was a perfect example of this as the second-year head coach went around Statesboro handing out tickets to Saturday's home opener against Western Michigan to unsuspecting fans.
The #FritzBlitz was part of Paint the Town Blue, a week-long celebration of events and activities designed to raise awareness and excitement for the home opener.
Fritz visited Sea Island Bank in downtown Statesboro, Vision Source Eye Center and Cook Out on Fair Road to drum up support for the Eagles and hand out tickets to fans who didn't already have them.
