LIVE STATS
The Series
• Georgia Southern leads the all-time series with Idaho 2-0 as the two teams have met only twice previously, a 28-27 Eagle win on Dec. 1, 1990 in the NCAA Division I playoffs en route to their fourth I-AA National Championship, and last year in Statesboro. The Eagles won that game 47-24.
• Both Georgia Southern and Idaho are in their second seasons as Sun Belt Conference members, although Idaho is in its second stint in the league.
Back to Idaho
• This will be the Eagles' first game in the state of Idaho since losing the 1988 Division I-AA National Championship Game to Furman in Pocatello.
• It will be the farthest west the Eagles have played since losing to Oregon State in 1999 in Corvallis, Oregon.
Alma Mater Pride on the Line
• Georgia Southern defensive line coach Kevin Peoples and Idaho head coach Paul Petrino are both graduates of Carroll College, where they played for Coach Bob Petrino, Sr.
• Peoples and Petrino helped lead the Saints to the 1989 Frontier Conference crown and a berth in the NAIA playoffs.
• Additionally, both hail from Butte, Montana.
Dome Sweet Dome
• You can add the Kibbie Dome to the list of indoor stadiums the Eagles will have played in after this weekend as it joins the six other "domes" GS has played in over the years. Georgia Southern is 9-7 all-time when the roof is over its head.
Georgia Dome (2-0): def. MTSU ('95); def. Georgia St. ('14)
Tacoma Dome (2-0): def. Furman (85); def. Ark St ('86)
UNI-Dome (1-0): def. Northern Iowa ('85)
Mini-Dome (4-4): went 4-4 against ETSU

Coach to Cure MD
• Head coach Willie Fritz will participate in Coach To Cure MD this weekend, the AFCA's way to educate the country about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and raise money to fight this deadly opponent.
• The AFCA started Coach To Cure MD eight years ago, and now over 10,000 coaches participate every year.
• Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy affects one in 3,500 boys and with no treatment or cure, most don't live to see their 30th birthday. The AFCA's work in Coach To Cure MD is a partnership with the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the largest nonprofit organization in the United States focused entirely on Duchenne.

Not counting any games involving Hawaii, this trip will be the seventh-longest trip among FBS schools within the continental U.S. (campus to campus, air miles according to TravelMath).
