
Promotions Set for Saturday's Game Against The Citadel

Military Appreciation Day headlines the festivities
Georgia Southern will look to win its second game in a row on Saturday as the Eagles host undefeated The Citadel at Paulson Stadium here in Statesboro. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., but there is a lot going on before and during the game.
Military Appreciation Day
• Military Appreciation Day is held each year at a Georgia Southern Football game in honor of the men and women who have served and currently served in our nation's armed forces.
• Ticket Special – Any active and veteran military personnel get in free with ID.
• Family members get in with $15 discount admission
• They can purchase these tickets on gameday at the ticket booth by gates 7 and 8.
• The Georgia National Guard and GSU Army ROTC Eagle Battalion will have a Fun Zone set up by Gate 12, including an interactive STEM Truck and Humvee among other activities.
• Don't miss out on a special halftime performance from the Southern Pride Marching Band honoring all military personnel.
• The Golden Knights, originally scheduled to perform, will not be in attendance due to unforeseen circumstances.
Family Weekend
• The Office of Orientation and Parent Programs at Georgia Southern University will host the University's annual Fall Family Weekend on Sept. 18-20, 2015. Main events include a Block Party, outdoor movie and a catered tailgate with games and activities leading up to the Georgia Southern vs. The Citadel football game.
• The deadline to purchase Family Weekend Packages has passed. There are some packages still available on a first come, first served basis. Packages can be purchased through the Office of Orientation and Parent Programs by calling 912-478-7627. The Office of Orientation and Parent Programs will host check-in for parents on Friday, Sept. 18 from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 19 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Parents can purchase packages at check-in as well.
Cheerleader for a Day
• Any child ages 4 to 14 have the opportunity to spend the day the GSU Cheerleading team. Participants will learn cheers, chants and important cheerleading skills from the very best, our own five-time National Champion Georgia Southern Eagle Cheerleaders.
• After the cheerleader coaching sessions, the current Eagle Cheerleaders will warm-up their game material while future Eagle Cheerleader enjoy a snack before being picked up.
• Make sure you arrive early for this amazing show!
• Parents/guardians may then take their future Eagle Cheerleaders over to Paulson Stadium where they will perform pregame and welcome the football team to the field with the Eagle Cheerleaders.
• There is no deadline to register for Cheerleader for a Day but parents are strongly encouraged to register online; parents may register their children upon check-in at the Hanner Fieldhouse Old Gym beginning at 1 p.m. For any questions about Cheerleader for a Day, please call Cheerleading at 912-481-2273
