STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern football program will serve as the hosts for Meet the Eagles Fan Fest this Saturday, Aug. 15, at Paulson Stadium. Gates open at 8 a.m., and the football team will kick things off with a scrimmage starting at 9 a.m. When the scrimmage ends, the autograph will begin at approximately 11 a.m.
The event is free of charge and open to fans of all ages. The concessions stand and Adidas store will be open, as will the Field of Dreams. Additionally, inflatables will be at the event for the Little Eagles in attendance. Parking is also free and is available in the tailgate lot.
Beginning at 11 a.m., fans can get autographs from their favorite players. Members of the football, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball squads will be available for autographs on the north concourse and fans can enter through gate 12, which is on the west side of the stadium. The event will end at noon.
Fans can bring in outside items to be signed, but posters will be provided free of charge to those who wish to get one signed.
No posed photography will be allowed. This restriction allows fans to move through the lines as quickly as possible.
The Athletics Ticket Office will be on site for fans wishing to buy season tickets.
The Georgia Southern football team opens the 2015 season on Sept. 5 on the road against West Virginia. The team's home opener is Saturday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. against Western Michigan.
Georgia Southern won the 2014 Sun Belt title in its first season in the league, finishing 8-0 in the conference and 9-3 overall. The Eagles return 58 lettermen and 13 starters to the 2015 squad, were picked to win the Sun Belt in the league's preseason coaches' poll and are receiving votes in the USA Today Amway Top-25 Coaches Poll.
Fans can purchase 2015 season tickets and select their seats online, by calling 1-800-GSU-WINS or by visiting the ticket office in the Cowart Building adjacent to Paulson Stadium (203 Lanier Drive). Ticket office hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Season tickets prices start as low as $75 for all six games. Season ticket sales have exceeded last year's total and are expected to reach an all-time high.
