NEW ORLEANS – Georgia Southern coach Willie Fritz and seniors Matt Dobson and Darien Foreman participated in the Sun Belt Conference Football Media Day at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome Monday, July 20.
The trio each had a session with the media in attendance, spent some time in the Social Media Suite and the league's green screen room were interviewed by the Georgia Southern Radio Network via the streaming App, Periscope.
The Eagles arrived at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome a little before 10 a.m., and the student-athletes headed straight for the Social Media Suite followed by the green screen room, while Coach Fritz went to radio row for an interview on Sirius before chatting with the Appalachian State Radio Network.
Fritz spent time on the set of ESPN3 and knocked out a few more radio interviews before his turn in the Social Media Suite. After a break for lunch, the trio had a team media session and did some one-on-one interviews, and Fritz capped the day with a couple more radio appearances.
The Sun Belt released its Preseason All-Conference Team this morning. Matt Breida and Foreman were named first-team All-Sun Belt, while Kevin Ellison, Jay Ellison, Dobson and Derek Keaton earned second-team honors. The Eagles were picked to win the league in the coaches' poll, which was announced Friday.
