Full Commissioner's List | Full Honor Roll List
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Nearly 100 Georgia Southern student-athletes were honored for their academic achievements by the Sun Belt Conference.
The league released its 2013-14 Commissioner's All-Academic list and Academic Honor Roll on Thursday. The Eagles had 66 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's All-Academic list and 92 named to the Honor Roll.
All 14 GSU teams competing in the Sun Belt had at least one member on both lists. The baseball team had a school-high 16 student-athletes on the Honor Roll, while the softball team led the Commissioner's list with 10.
The Sun Belt honored over 1,700 student-athletes across all of its member institutions and the total of 1,740 ranks second all time.
"It is a true testament to our institution's coaches and administrators who place an emphasis on academics and classroom work off of the fields and courts," Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson said. "Our student-athletes understand the importance of being a student first and an athlete second."
The Commissioner's All-Academic List honors those student-athletes from all member institutions that attain a minimum 3.5 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale), not a cumulative average, during the academic year.
The Academic Honor Roll recognizes those student-athletes from all member institutions that attain a minimum 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale), not a cumulative average, during the academic year.
