Eagle Athletics Welcomes Student-Athletes Back to Campus

STATESBORO, Ga. – With the start of classes nearly 12 hours away, Georgia Southern Athletics welcomed its student-athletes back to campus with a special event at Splash in the Boro. Georgia Southern's student-athlete population was treated to an evening in the local waterpark as well as a meal.
Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein welcomed the student-athletes back to campus and introduced members of the administration including University President Dr. Brooks Keel and Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Chris Geyerman. Kleinlein also recognized the Eagle Men's and Women's Tennis teams for posting the department's best GPA.
After the welcoming address, student-athletes were given free reign over the 155 acre waterpark which includes four waterslides. The park also includes Georgia's only FlowRider surfing machine.
