Football Operations Ribbon Cutting Draws Fans from All Generations

More than 500 Eagle fans celebrate opening of new Eagle Football headquarters
Football Operations Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern University President Brooks Keel, Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein and Student Government Association President Azell Francis stood before more than 500 Eagle fans at the front entrance of the new Football Operations Center (FOC) Saturday morning and then joined dignitaries and distinguished guests in cutting the ribbon to open the new facility. Georgia Southern cheerleaders lined the walkway as guests arrived to witness the grand opening of the 50,000 square foot headquarters for the Eagle Football program.
Representatives from Rosser International, the primary architect on the facility, Georgia Southern Vice President for Business and Finance Rob Whitaker, Walt Huggins, Mike Sanders, Anthony Tippins, Mel McBride, Associate AD for Special Projects Tracy Ham, University System of Georgia Regent Lori Durden, Interim Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation President Frank Hook, Evans Construction's Tim Evans and Jesse Bentley, Chairman of the Bulloch County Board of Commissioners Garrett Nevil joined Keel, Kleinlein and Francis for the ribbon cutting.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, alumni, fans and members of the Eagle Football Alumni Association were invited to tour the new FOC beginning with the Hall of Fame atrium through both levels of the building. Groundbreaking for the Paulson Stadium expansion and FOC took place last June with construction continuing throughout the 2013 season.
Private funds were raised for the $10 million brick, glass and steel-frame landmark project that includes coaches' offices and meeting rooms, position meeting rooms, a team room, players' academic area and lounge, locker room, strength and conditioning area, sports medicine area with hydrotherapy room and equipment room.
SEVEN GAMES IN STATE FOR GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Eagle fans have the opportunity to see the Eagles play seven times in the state of Georgia with five home games at the newly expanded Paulson Stadium. Season tickets are available in several sections, including great Eagle Family grass seating with VIP access for only $150 for two tickets to all five home game. Single-game tickets just went on sale Friday for fans who want to secure seats to select games in advance. Ticket information for both home and away games is available at GSEagles.com/fbtix.
