STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics announces Paint the Town Blue week-long events.
Paint the Town Blue starts on Friday, Aug. 29 with the True Blue Spirit Business Competition and goes through the first home football game on Saturday, Sept. 6. The week-long event is designed to get all of Statesboro involved in the celebration of the beginning of the 2014 football season and for businesses to show their support of Georgia Southern University.
The True Blue Spirit Business Competition starts on Aug. 29 and judging takes place on Sept. 4 and asks all businesses in Statesboro to paint their storefront and show their True Blue spirit. The competition will be judged on spirit, tradition, creativeness, window display and most True Blue employees.
During the week, there will also be a Kickoff Balloon Launch at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School, a True Blue Block Party, a True Blue Tailgate and True Blue Eagle Eye Friday, which encourages fans to wear their blue on Friday and have a chance to win prizes.
