Eagle Honor Roll Student-Athletes Receive Adidas Jackets

STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern Athletics and the University Athletics Council recently held a banquet in honor of the student-athletes who qualified for the 2013 Eagle Honor Roll. This merit is awarded to student-athletes who earned a 3.0 grade point average of higher during the Spring and Fall 2013 semesters and/or have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
The student-athletes who were named to the Eagle Honor Roll were all rewarded with Adidas jackets, provided by the Athletics Department. The jackets had a logo of an Eagle holding books with a 3.0 across its chest.
"I think getting the jackets was a great way to acknowledge our hard work in the classroom," said senior volleyball player Lauren LaRocque. "It encourages other student-athletes to strive for the Eagle Honor Roll at the same time."
As the Eagles move into the SunBelt Conference in 2014, academic excellence is, and always has been, a priority. Georgia Southern Athletics holds a high standard for their student-athletes academically as well as athletically.
