Game Times Set for Eagles’ First Two Road Games

ACC broadcast partners to televise both games

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Game times have been set for Georgia Southern's first two road games of 2014, both against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, with ACC broadcast partners televising both contests, as announced today by the league. The season opener on August 30th at N.C. State will kickoff at 12:30 p.m. and appear on the ACC Network and the Sept. 13th Eagles-Yellow Jackets game is set for 12 p.m. on the ACC Regional Sports Network.
Both N.C. State and Georgia Tech are first-time opponents for Georgia Southern. The Eagles last faced an ACC opponent in 2009 with a mid-season game at North Carolina that year and last opened on the road in 2011. The Eagles-Wolfpack season opener will be the earliest for Georgia Southern since the August 30, 2008 game at Georgia.
Georgia Southern plays seven games in the state of Georgia in 2014, traveling to Atlanta for the first of two games in the Capital city. After the Eagles' home opener in the newly expanded Paulson Stadium on September 6th, they meet the Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium for the first-ever football game between the two schools.
The first two road games will appear as syndicated packages produced by the ACC Network, ACC Network, syndicated in over 100 markets nationally and reaching more than 90 million TV households will air the N.C. State game. The Georgia Tech game will appear on Regional Sports Networks (RSN) of Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Carolinas, Fox Sports Florida or Sun Sports, Comcast Sports Net Mid-Atlantic, New England Sports Network (NESN), the YES Network or MSG Network in New York and Root Sports in Pennsylvania, in addition to several other RSNs nationally reaching 71 million homes on average.
Both games will be available digitally on ESPN3 (outside of their coverage areas) and on theACC.com and on the ACC App for IPhones, IPads and Droid mobile devices.
