
Josh Tessar Joins Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation has named Josh Tessar its Savannah/Jacksonville Regional Athletics Development Director, Athletics Director Tom Kleinlein announced today.
Tessar comes to Georgia Southern from Radford University, where he served as the Director of University Advancement for four years. In that role, he was responsible for identifying and soliciting prospective alumni for Principal and Major Gift Donations of $25,000 or more. Tessar served in a similar capacity as the Associate Director of Major Gifts for the Virginia Tech Foundation from 2006-10.
"I am very excited about adding Josh to our fundraising team," said Kleinlein. "He brings an experience in fundraising in both the academic and athletic areas on campus. He will be a great addition to our Athletic foundation."
Tessar played football for the Hokies from 1999-2001 and earned his bachelor's degree in sociology from Virginia Tech in 2003. He worked as an account executive for IMG College at the University of Houston from 2004-06 and began his tenure at Virginia Tech in that same role before moving on to the Virginia Tech Foundation. Tessar earned his MBA from Radford in 2011.
