McKinnon Earns “Top Performer” Label at 2014 NFL Scouting Combine

Eagle finishes among top offensive players in four drills this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Georgia Southern's Jerick McKinnon continued to impress NFL personnel Sunday and was labeled as a top performer in four of physical tests conducted at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine. McKinnon, who topped the running backs group chart with 32 reps in the 225-lb. bench press Saturday, ranked second in the 40-yard Dash, Broad Jump and Vertical Jump testing.
McKinnon showed why he deserved Georgia Southern's Iron Works Dedication Award not just once but three times, with top total for reps in his position group. His 32 rep total tied him for eighth on the list of all offensive players tested this weekend.
The Marietta, Ga., native and Sprayberry High School product finished Sunday with an official 4.41 in the 40-yard Dash, good for sixth-best among all offensive players. McKinnon's Vertical Jump of 40.5 inches and Broad Jump of 11 feet ranked third and sixth respectively, in comparison to all offensive players.
Eagle cornerback Lavelle Westbrooks, who arrived in Indianapolis late last week, is scheduled for measurements, his medical exam and interviews Sunday with his bench press testing on Monday. A four-year starter and All-Conference honoree, Westbrooks will participate in defensive backs drills on Tuesday.
McKinnon and Westbrooks plan to return to campus next month for Georgia Southern's Pro Day.
