All-NorCal League selection joins program in January
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Max Magaña, a 6-6, 290 lb. offensive lineman from Las Vegas, Nev., has signed a National Letter of Intent to enroll at Georgia Southern and play football for the Eagles in Fall of 2015. Magaña will join the program this upcoming January.
Magaña, who played left tackle, just completed his sophomore season at Feather River College where he earned All-NorCal League honors. A two-year starter, he helped the Golden Eagles break multiple offensive team records and 28 individual records in 2013 and 2014.
"We are excited about having Max us next semester," said Head Coach Willie Fritz. "We graduated some senior offensive linemen this season and Max brings height and length and he's going to fit into our program very well.
A member of the first team offense for the All-Northeast League, and selected to the second team for 4A All-Southern Nevada, Magaña played for the Las Vegas High School Wildcats.
Upcoming events for Eagle Football include a National Signing Day event on February 4th and a gala on February 8th. Details on these upcoming dates as well as season ticket information, will be available soon.
Georgia Southern, the 2014 Sun Belt Conference champions, open the 2015 season at West Virginia on September 5th, 2015.
