STATESBORO, Ga. – Kevin Bostian has been named the new Executive Director of the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation. He will begin his duties immediately and replace Frank Hook, who graciously served as the interim director for the past seven months. Hook will return to his position as Director of Donor Relations.
Bostian joins the Eagles from his previous position as Associate Athletics Director for Development at Tennessee Tech University. While with the Golden Eagles, Bostian oversaw all of the development efforts for athletics, working to maintain current levels while generating increased support for Tech Athletics.
"I am excited to have Kevin Join the Journey that we are on, and I look forward to him providing the leadership to grow our foundation while continuing to serve the mission of Rings and Diplomas," said Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein.
Prior to his stint at Tennessee Tech, Bostian served for seven years at East Tennessee State University. During his tenure with the Buccaneers, he rose to Assistant Athletic Director for Corporate Development and Regional Athletic Advancement and served in that role for three years. He also spent two years as the Director of Corporate Sales, Marketing and Regional Athletic Advancement and two years as a Marketing, Promotions, Merchandise and Licensing Coordinator.
Bostian's primary responsibilities at East Tennessee State included obtaining corporate partnerships for the athletic department and the Buccaneer Sports Network, which increased revenue by 90 percent during that period. His responsibilities also included the BASA regional satellite clubs and events, and the BASA All-Sports Golf Tournament, which increased revenue over 100 percent in the last three years. In addition, he was responsible for fundraising for the Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association (BASA).
Prior to his time at ETSU, Bostian was Marketing Coordinator for the Gwinnett Sports Commission in Atlanta, Ga. While with the Gwinnett Sports Commission, he assisted with bringing sporting events to Gwinnett County, including the adidas All-America Men's Basketball Camp and adidas Top-10 Women's Basketball Camp.
Bostian has also worked as a Marketing Coordinator at the University of South Alabama, Media Relations Assistant at the 2003 NCAA Men's Final Four in New Orleans, the 2000 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament and the 2000 Adidas Roundball Classic along with internships with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns and Durham Bulls.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, Bostian earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Sports Administration (MSA) from Ohio University in 2002. He earned a B.S. in Business Management from North Carolina State University in 2002.
Bostian is married to the former Megan McGraw, and together they have three daughters, Ayla (6), Zoe (4), and Piper Grace (born Aug. 12, 2014).
