Georgia Southern Athletics will induct its 2014 Hall of Fame class Saturday. The six member class will also be recognized before the start of the football game against Idaho, which is set to kickoff at 6 p.m.

A supporter of Georgia Southern since 1973, Wayne Murphy served on the selection committee that led to the selection of Erk Russell as the football program's first head coach. An active member of the Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation, he is affectionately known as 'Mr. Georgia Southern.' He is a member of the Savannah Quarterback Club and St. Patrick's Day Committee and has worked on the Schenkel Golf Tournament and assisted with the organization of the 2001 Georgia Southern vs. Georgia basketball game in Savannah. Murphy is a member of the University's 1906 Society, a board member for the Ronald McDonald House and a member of Leadership Board of the American Cancer Society of the Georgia Legislative Committee.
DANNY WARBUTTON | Gymnastics
Danny Warbutton was a four-time Georgia state champion, four-time Southern Intercollegiate Gymnastics champion and a three-time All-American. He was the 10th-place all-around finisher at the 1972 Olympic Trials and was selected to the United States team in 1977 to tour with Nadia Comaneci and the Romanian gymnasts. He worked as an international coach with U.S. teams in South Africa, East Germany and England and was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2003. Warbutton coached 11 elite gymnasts, 45 national competitors and 10 state championship teams in Pennsylvania, and more than 50 of his gymnasts went on to college on full scholarships. He served as chairman of the Pennsylvania Age Group and chairman of Regional Elite Coach of Coaches. He also served on the Foreign Relations Committee, International and Olympic Team Selection and the National Coaching Staff and was the first recipient of the Pennsylvania Lifetime Achievement Award in 1988. Sadly, Warbutton passed away August 4, 2014, after battling cancer.
