Swope Earns SoCon Offensive Player of the Week Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern running back Dominique Swope earned his first Southern Conference Player of the Week award for 2013 this week as the Eagles defeated Savannah State in the season opener. The junior from Buford, Ga., racked up 100 yards and scored back-to-back touchdowns in the victory.
Swope's first touchdown was a one-yard rush after the Eagles drove 70 yards on their first drive in the second half. His second score, a five-yard run, capped Georgia Southern's next offensive drive and gave Swope his eighth multiple touchdown game.
The Eagles are in action at home again this weekend when they play host to St. Francis (Pa.) Saturday, Sept. 7th at 6 p.m. at Paulson Stadium. Purchase tickets online at GSEagles.com or by calling 1-800-GSU-WINS.
