CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards, the largest awards organization in D-I college football, recently announced its 2013 CFPA Punt Returner Award Watch List. The initial list highlights 33 performers, vying for the top national punt return specialist award in the FCS with Georgia Southern junior Tray Butler included on the list.
"Congratulations to Tray Butler on earning a spot on the 2013 CFPA Punt Returner Award Watch List," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "As Georgia Southern's expected primary punt returner in 2013, Butler will be one of the nation's top special teams players to watch this season."
Three Georgia Southern players have earned CFPA national post-season honors: Adrian Mora, Laron Scott, and Brent Russell with five, including Butler, listed among players to watch for their respective positions in 2013. Eagle quarterback Jerick McKinnon and running back Dominique Swope were selected to represent the offense with senior defensive lineman Javon Mention for defense. Senior Luke Cherry was named to the punters watch list as the other specialist to be chosen from Georgia Southern.
