STATESBORO, Ga. – After winning an event title at the Southern Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend, Georgia Southern's 4X100m Relay team was back on the track this week for practice. The Eagles, Jasmin Walker, Ebony Carter, Alyssa Felton and Amber Vaughn, who ran a 45.46 to take first, will travel to the Samford Open in an attempt to better that time.
The SoCon winning time was the second-best effort in Eagle Track & Field and conference history. Georgia Southern's time in the 4X100m Relay is currently ranked 29th in the NCAA East region and 67th nationally.
The Women's 4X100m Relay event is the first of the meet on Saturday with a start time of 6 p.m. Eastern time. The Samford Open will be held at the Samford Track Stadium in Birmingham. A live results link will be available at timinginc.com after the meet starts Saturday. A full schedule of events is available here.
"We are continuing to race with hopes of improving our time," said Eagle Head Track & Field Coach Marlo Mincey. "Right now, we're in a good spot, but we will need to continue to race."
