STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation begins its first annual Eagle Funds Coaches Tour, a month-long, eight-city excursion around Georgia this spring, at the Effingham County High School Cafeteria Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m.
This new program aims to keep Eagle fans updated and informed on all the happenings in Georgia Southern's athletic programs while also providing supporters a chance to meet and hear from many of the exceptional Georgia Southern athletics coaches as well as Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein.
Thursday's event will be audio streamed live on GSEagles.com. Fans are encouraged to tweet questions to @GSAthletics or @GSUAF with #EFCT. Fans can also post questions on Facebook at Facebook.com/GSAthletics or Facebook.com/GSUAthleticFoundation.
Eagle football coach Jeff Monken and men's basketball coach Mark Byington will be at Thursday's tour stop along with Kleinlein and the radio voice of the Eagles, Chris Blair.
The atmosphere at each tour stop will be packed with True Blue spirit as fans enjoy refreshments while getting a chance to participate in a raffle, featuring incredible Georgia Southern novelty items. The tour continues in Savannah Friday, April 26, at the Forest City Gun Club at 7 p.m.
The Eagle Fund Coaches Tour will feature eight stops in surrounding cities, spanning over four consecutive weeks this spring. The last stop on the tour will be in Statesboro at the Bishop Field House in Paulson Stadium May 17.
