
Make Your Plans Now for the Spring Game Weekend

STATESBORO, Ga. - Make your plans now for an exciting weekend of Georgia Southern Athletics. The annual Blue White spring football game highlights a weekend chock- full of activities.
The football team will kick off at Allen E. Paulson Stadium at 1 p.m. that Saturday and fans have an opportunity to be a part of the new Erk Russell movie. Fans are asked to dress in period 1980's clothing as the film crew will be shooting crowd shots at the game.
Prior to the game, the Eagles will host the Little Eagles Camp at 11 a.m. The camp is free and open to all kid's ages 4-12. Following the game at 7 p.m., the EFAA will be hosting the $10,000 reverse raffle and tickets can still be purchased by contacting the Athletics Foundation at 912-478-5520.
The GSU baseball team, softball, men's soccer and men's tennis will also be in action that weekend. Baseball will host a three-game weekend series against the Citadel. First pitch on Friday night is set for 6 p.m. Saturday's game is set for 5 p.m. and Sunday's series finale is a 1:30 p.m. start.
Promotions for the series include Guinness Book of World Records, 90s day and cowboy/cowgirl day. Friday night Georgia Southern will give away 2,000 sunglasses and will attempt to set a new Guinness Book of World Record for most sunglasses worn at night. The football team will also be at the game signing autographs on the concourse and Head Coach Jeff Monken will throw out the first pitch.
Softball is hosting a three-game set against the Samford Bulldogs that weekend. The series opens with a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and concludes with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday. Promotions for the series include alumni weekend and fan appreciation day.
The men's tennis team will square off with Samford on Friday and Chattanooga on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled to start at noon and it will be senior day on Saturday.
Men's soccer will host a doubleheader of spring soccer on Sunday. The first match against North Florida is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. and the second against SCAD is set for 5 p.m.
