WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Georgia Southern Track and Field team continued yesterday’s trend and set four more personal bests at the second and last day of the Hilton Garden Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Freshmen Alyssa Felton and Taylor Johnson improved their records for two events over the past two days.
After setting a new personal best in the 60m Dash yesterday, Felton improved her Long Jump by 17 centimeters, leaping for 5.69m, good for a fourth place finish. Taylor Johnson improved her Shot Pup mark to 9.32m as well as her High Jump mark to 1.42m, improving her old best by 20 centimeters.
Freshman Keyanna Harris also continued to establish herself in the High Jump, finishing 12th with a new personal best of 1.62m.
Freshman Jami Joyner ran her fastest mile ever, taking almost seven minutes off her old time.
Next up for the Eagles is the Samford Multi and Invitational at Samford University next weekend on Feb. 8 and 9.
