Fall Camporee event for Boy Scouts of America at Eagle Field
STATESBORO, Ga. – As part of the Fall Camporee for the Boy Scouts of America, scouts can register for an overnight event at Erk Russell Athletic Park that begins with Saturday's 1 p.m. game against The Citadel. Scouts will help form the tunnel for the Georgia Southern Football team's entrance onto the field and then watch the Eagles-Bulldogs game. One hour after the football game, scouts are invited to set up their campsites at Eagle Field (west end of the Paulson Stadium parking lot).
Registration for the event is $15 for youth and $20 for adults covering the cost of a game ticket and a patch. Online registration ends Friday, October 11th. Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Venture Crews in the Coastal Empire Council of the Boy Scouts of America are welcome to participate.
Attendees can set up tents (no stakes, please) and enjoy an outdoor showing of the movie "Little Giants" on a big screen. Individuals are responsible for their own meals. Because Eagle Field serves as a competition facility, campfires of any kind are not permitted.
