Hilton Garden Invitational Hosts Georgia Southern Track and Field

STATESBORO, Ga. – In the midst of their indoor season, the Georgia Southern Track and Field team is traveling to Winston Salem, N.C. to compete in the Hilton Garden Invitational at the JDL Fast Track. The two-day event starts Friday, Feb. 1 at 12:15 and concludes with its last event on Saturday at 7:10 p.m.
The Eagles get in action on Friday at 12:15 p.m. with the Pentathlon and continue the day at 5:00 p.m. with the 60m Dash, followed by several field events. On Saturday, the athletes start with the 60m hurdles at 10 a.m. and finish the meet with the 4x400m Relay at 7:10 p.m.
Last week at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational, Keyanna Harris, Jasmine Walker and Cherrelle King all earned top four finishes. Harris was the first Eagle of the day to place in the top three when she jumped for 1.56m in the High Jump, two centimeters short of her personal best, finishing third overall. Sophomore Jasmine Walker added a third place finish of her own, leaping 5.67m in the Long Jump. Junior Cherelle King rounded out the top performances with fourth place finish in the 400m Dash, crossing the line in 58.55.
