Track & Field Heads to Niswonger Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Track and Field team continues their indoor season in Johnson City, Tenn. this weekend as they will compete in the 35th annual Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University. The two-day event begins Friday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. and runs through Saturday until 6:30 p.m.
After only competing with a partial squad at the UAB Blazer Invitational last week, a complete Eagle team will make an appearance this weekend.
The event starts on Friday with the 60m Hurdles preliminaries and will finish off the day with the 5K run at 8 p.m. The meet picks back up on Saturday at 8 a.m. with another 5K Run before it ends with the 4x400m Relay at 6:30 p.m.
Over 800 student-athletes from more than 60 collegiate women and men’s teams will be competing in the meet. Those teams include Anderson College, Appalachian State, Austin Peay, Benedict College, Bryan College, Chattanooga, Emory, Gardner-Webb, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, King College, Lee University, Lipscomb, Mars Hill, MTSU, Milligan, Montreat, Murray State, Roanoke College, Southern University at New Orleans, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee Wesleyan, Tusculum, UNC Asheville, USC Upstate, Western Carolina and Wofford.
