
Russell Added to Senior Bowl Watch List

MOBILE, Ala. - Georgia Southern's senior defensive tackle Brent Russell was one of 20 FCS players named to the Senior Bowl's first ever watch list.
The nation's premier all-star game highlighted 309 seniors and top NFL draft prospects from 114 different schools to keep an eye on during the 2012 football season. The top-100 seniors will be invited to participate in the 2013 Senior Bowl on January 26th at Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
Russell, who was named the SoCon's Defensive Player of the Year last season, finished the 2011 season first on the squad in tackles for loss (16.5) and sacks (6.5).
The Comer, Ga., native is also a two-year All-American and was named to five All-America lists after helping lead GSU to their ninth Southern Conference Championship a year ago.
The Eagles continue preparation for their 2012 season opener against Jacksonville on September 1st with a scrimmage at Paulson Stadium this afternoon.
