
Football Returns to Practice Fields

STATESBORO, Ga. - After starting class Monday, the Georgia Southern Football team returned to the practice fields at "Beautiful Eagle Creek" Tuesday afternoon.
"It was pretty warm when we first got started and we ran them pretty hard today," Head Coach Jeff Monken said following practice.
Georgia Southern, who capped off fall camp with Meet the Eagles and a scrimmage at Paulson Stadium over the weekend, began in earnest preparation for their first opponent Jacksonville.
"We scouted the whole practice. The offensive scouts were on the defensive field and the defensive scouts were on the offensive field," Monken said.
The Eagles donned full pads for a 22-period practice and opened the first session of the week with work on the punt and punt return games.
The team also worked on third down situations and the passing game. . GSU returns to the practice fields Wednesday and Thursday at 3:45 p.m. before scrimmaging one final time at Paulson Stadium Friday at 4:15 p.m.
