Russell Named to CSN All-America Team

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern defensive tackle Brent Russell was named to the College Sporting News FCS Preseason All-America Team on Monday.

Among 100 student-athletes on the preseason teams, Russell was a First Team selection after leading the Eagles with 16.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in 2011.

The senior from Comer, Ga., was recently named the SoCon Preseason Defensive Player of the Year and was added to the Buck Buchanan Award watch list.

Russell was also named a Preseason All-American by the Sports Network.
