
Football Fifth in Southern Pigskin FCS Poll

STATESBORO, Ga. - SouthernPigskin.com has ranked Georgia Southern in the top-5 in their FCS Preseason Poll. The Eagles were selected fifth in the poll, which includes four members of the Southern Conference.
GSU was selected behind Montana, and the rest of the top-5 included defending FCS National Champion North Dakota State, Sam Houston State and Montana State. Fellow league members, Appalachian State and Wofford, joined the Eagles in the top-10. The Mountaineers appeared at #7 and the Terriers were ranked ninth.
The final SoCon team in the top-25, Chattanooga, was ranked 25th. The Mocs return sophomore quarterback Terrell Robinson, who was named the league's Co-Freshman of the Year, and lost five of their six losses by a combined score of 12 points.
Georgia Southern will play both Appalachian State and Wofford at home on November 3rd and October 13th, respectively. The Eagles will play the first of back-to-back games against a preseason ranked foe when they travel to Chattanooga on October 27th.
