Maxwell Receives Tryout Invite from Panthers

STATESBORO, Ga. - First Team All-Southern Conference center, William Maxwell, has a shot to make a NFL squad after receiving a rookie tryout invite from the Carolina Panthers. Maxwell was also one of the seniors that worked out in front of scouts at Georgia Southern's Pro Day.
The senior center will spend three days along with other undrafted rookies working out for Panthers' coaching staff.
Maxwell started in 49 games during his four-year career in Statesboro and started every game in the Eagles' back-to-back FCS Semifinal run. Maxwell spent time at both guard and center last year and helped GSU average 323.5 rushing yards per game.
