Track & Field Wrap Up Florida Relays

Gainesville, Fla. - Georgia Southern track and field wrapped up the Pepsi Florida Relays on Saturday, in Gainesville, Florida. The Eagles ran impressive times as they faced top-notch competition once again this season.
The 4x100 Meter Relay team of Jasmine Billings (Lawrenceville, Ga.), Ebony Carter (Rome, Ga.), Cherrelle King (Elmont, N.Y.) and Jasmine Walker (Fairburn, Ga.) placed 33rd as they ran 46.74 in the event.
The Eagles placed 10th in the 4x800 Meter Relay. The team of Kristiana Towns (Decatur, Ga.), Talisha Rice (Stockbridge, Ga.), Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) and Asea Mayfield (Marietta, Ga.) ran 9:15.78 for the day.
In the 4x200, the team of Walker, Kimberly Thomas (Covington, Ga.), King and Carter ran a 1:38.75 to place 16th on the day.
And in the 4x400, the Eagles place 40th. Dana Edwards (Athens, Ga.), Deanna Edwards (Athens, Ga.), JoAnn JaJa Benson and Taylor Wade (Loganville, Ga.) combined to run 3:49.93 in the relay.
The Eagles will now turn their attention to the SoCon Championships April 21-22. The Championships will be held in Cullowhee, N.C.
