North Florida Invitational Canceled Due to Weather

Jacksonville, Fla. - Georgia Southern Track & Field came home early Saturday afternoon, after the second day of the North Florida Invitational was rained out. After a delay to begin day two, the runners were able to get a few events in before the meet was called due to excessive lightning and rain.
Kimberly Thomas (Covington, Ga.) placed 12th (57.03) in the 400 Meter Dash, along with Racquel Daly (Decatur, Ga.) who finished 16th (57.76) and Cherrelle King (Elmont, N.Y.) coming in 18th (58.31).
In the 800 Meter run, Talisha Rice (Stockbridge, Ga.) placed 34th (2:25.08), followed by Asea Mayfield (Marietta, Ga.) in 35th (2:25.27), Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) in 38th (2:26.73) and Lindsey Mullican (Lancaster, Pa.) in 44th (2:31.64)
Taylor Wade (Loganville, Ga.) placed 12th in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 14.87. Millecent Brooks-Millender (Douglasville, Ga.) jumped 11.30 to place tenth in the Triple Jump, and Azura Robillard placed second in the Javelin Throw with a throw of 31.47 before the meet concluded due to the weather.
The Eagles will be back in action April 6-7 at the Pepsi Relays. The meet in Gainesville is the last meet for GSU before the SoCon Championships April 21-22.
