Eagles Wrap Up UNF Spring Break Invite

Jacksonville, Fla. - Georgia Southern Track and Field had a strong finish in the UNF Spring Break Invitational Saturday. The Eagles completed their first event of the outdoor track season, continuing their success from indoor.
The 4x400 relay team closed the day out with a first place finish on Saturday. The team opened the season running a time of 3:48.73
Sara Curry (Lawrenceville, Ga.) ran a 4:49.00 and Azura Robillard (Altamonte Springs, Ga.) ran 5:12.30 in the 1500 Meter to take 14th and 24th, respectively. In the Javelin Throw, Jessica Moss (Vero Beach, Fla.) placed eleventh throwing 25.11 meters, with Robillard close behind in 18th (28.47).
Millicent Brooks-Millender (Douglasville, Ga.) took eighth in the Triple Jump. The senior jumped 12.00/36'08.50 to place in the top ten.
Sara Hall (Columbia, Mo.) placed 8th in the Shot Put (13.39/41'03.25), Alexis Jacobs (Columbia, S.C.) took 14th (12.52/38'09.75) and Charnelle Wray (Jamaica, N.Y.) came in 16th (11.78/38'06.00) for the Eagles. Hall also placed 15th in the Discus Throw (40.00), with Jacobs not far behind in 19th (36.10)
Taylor Wade (Loganville, Ga.) took 16th in the 200 Meter, running a 25.11. Kimberly Thomas (Covington, Ga.) placed 18th and Jasmine Billings (Lawrenceville, Ga.) 27th running 25.21 and 25.6, respectively, for the Eagles.
The Eagles will be back in action March 9, when they will run in the Palmetto Classic at Charleston, S.C.
