Georgia Southern's Wade Named SoCon Athlete of the Week

Statesboro, Ga. – Freshman Taylor Wade (Loganville, Ga.) was named Southern Conference (SoCon) Women’s Indoor Athlete of the Week for meets completed January 26th – February 1st, the league announced on Wednesday.
The Georgia Southern freshman took seventh in the 60 Meter Hurdles (8.95) last week at the Birmingham Invitational, and also took 16th in the pentathlon with 2792 points. These scores have placed Wade at fourth and fifth in the SoCon, respectively.
“I am very happy to see Taylor’s hard work and discipline pay off,” Said Head Coach Marlo Mincey. “ She is a tough competitor and we can expect big things from her throughout the seasons”
The Eagles return to the track Feb. 10-11 at the Tiger Paw Invitational, a two-day meet in Clemson, S.C.
