
Youyoute Pulls in SoCon Freshman of the Week Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Redshirt-Freshman quarterback Ezayi Youyoute pulled in SoCon Freshman of the Week honors following a team-high 119 yards in the 52-20 win over Western Carolina. The Wauchula, Fla., native contributed to Georgia Southern's third-best rushing performance in program history with the Eagles' longest play from scrimmage this season.
Youyoute tallied the majority of his 119 yards on an 83-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. He carried the ball four times for an average of 29.8 yards per carry, while completing one pass for four yards.
Georgia Southern travels to Elon Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff against the Phoenix where the Eagles will look to go 3-0 in the SoCon for the first time since 2004. Elon is coming off an 18-15 overtime victory over The Citadel, and will be seeking its second Southern Conference victory on October 1st.
