Tracy Ham Joins Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2012

MACON, Ga. - Former Eagle quarterback and College Football Hall of Fame member Tracy Ham joins six other Georgia sports stars including Tom Glavine and John Smoltz in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame's Class of 2012. The group of seven was selected from a pool of 35 finalists and also included Jack Bauerle, Sally Smalley Bell, Bob Boylston and Cliff Kimsey.
"I am very humbled by this honor," said Ham when reached Friday evening. "I am so excited to represent my family and to represent Georgia Southern in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame."
Ham, a 2010 Canadian Football Hall of Fame and 2007 College Football Hall of Fame inductee, led Georgia Southern to back-to-back national championships in 1985 and 1986. He is the Eagles' all-time leader in total offense (8,969 yards), passing (5,757 yards) and passing touchdowns (34) and holds numerous other marks. Ham was also Georgia Southern's first All-American. He was the only player to wear number eight at GSU and it was retired following his distinguished career on the field.
The class of 2012 will be inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame on February 25th.
