Rose Carter Named Assistant A.D. for New Media

STATESBORO, Ga. - Rose Carter, the current Georgia Southern Athletics Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, has been named Assistant A.D. for New Media as announced by Athletics Director Sam Baker today, June 17th. A national search for a new Athletics Media Relations Director has begun.
"I am excited that we have someone of Rose's experience that allow us the ability to expand this role as we expand our efforts to provide internet and video content to our many communities through the various available new platforms," said Athletics Director Sam Baker.
Carter will head the Eagles' social media efforts on Facebook and Twitter while overseeing the video content on GeorgiaSouthernEagles.com including the live streaming product and interviews with head coaches and student-athletes. She will also seek to expand the reach of Georgia Southern to new fans and prospective student-athletes alike by expanding the social media and website coverage of Georgia Southern Athletics.
Carter moves to the new position after two years of service as GSU's Athletics Media Relations Director. She previously worked as a member of Georgia Southern University's Marketing and Communications staff for a number of years and served as Fresno State's Athletics Media Relations Director immediately prior to coming to GSU.
