John Ramfjord Named Athletics Ticket Manager

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Athletics announces the hiring of John Ramfjord as Athletics Ticket Manager effective immediately. Ramfjord joined Georgia Southern Athletics family in 2007 when he worked in the Athletics Marketing office. In August of 2008 he was named Assistant Ticket Manager and just six months later in January of 2009, the title Assistant Director of Eagle Sports Marketing was added. Ramfjord replaces Kay Shuman who retired at the end of the 2010-11 athletics season.
In his tenure at Georgia Southern, Ramfjord has held a variety of responsibilities, including production of in-game entertainment for football, baseball and basketball, promotion of all 15 Georgia Southern Sports on campus and the Director of the Junior Eagle Club. He assisted in the production of Inside Georgia Southern Football, Basketball and Baseball Shows and oversaw the internship program for Athletics Marketing. Ramfjord also created a database to help the Athletics Marketing department track attendance in each sport.
Ramfjord sold group tickets and tailgate packages for football, basketball, and baseball and was the ticket director for the 2011 Southern Conference Softball Championships, held in Statesboro. He was responsible for the new season ticket "flex" packages and implemented a new group ticket sales program which resulted in an 8% increase in sales per game each season.
As Athletics Ticket Manager, Ramfjord will manage and direct the smooth operation of all athletic ticket office functions at Georgia Southern including, seat assignments for football and basketball, coordination and distribution of single-game and season tickets as well as dealing with the general public and institutional staff regarding ticket disputes. He will manage game day ticket sales operations at all home athletics contests where tickets are sold as well as coordinate player pass lists and will call for all football away games and all other ticketed sports playing in conference tournaments.
A 1998 graduate of the University, Ramfjord earned his bachelor of arts in History. He returned to Statesboro to complete his Master's degree in Sport Management, graduating in 2007.
