Lynndsey Hyter Tabbed SoCon Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Track and Field student-athlete Lynndsey Hyter has been selected as one of the Southern Conference Indoor Field Co-Athletes of the Week for her performance at the Tiger Paw Invitational. Members of the SoCon media relations staff chooses a Track athlete of the week and a Field athlete of the week based on the previous week's performances.
The Dallas, Texas, native won the Long Jump event in the elite section of the Tiger Paw Invitational last weekend with a distance of 19'-9.75". A personal best for Hyter, she secured the third-best distance in Georgia Southern history and her mark currently leads the SoCon.
Hyter has earned several accolades during her career as an Eagle. She was the Most Outstanding Athlete of the 2009 Indoor SoCon Championships and was twice named the league's top field performer for indoor in 2009 and 2010.
The Eagles return to Clemson, S.C., this Saturday, February 19th, for the Tiger Tuneup. This meet concludes the regular season for Track and Field as it prepares for the SoCon Indoor Championships the following weekend at the same venue.
