WACO, Texas - A starter at right tackle for the entire regular season, Brett Moore was honored by the American Football Coaches Association. The senior lineman was selected to the FCS All-America Team after helping the Georgia Southern Eagles to their first Southern Conference Championship since 2004 and a 9-2 record in the regular season.
The Warner Robins, Ga., native finished the regular season with 44 knockdowns and posted a season-high 11 knockdowns against Western Carolina.
The AFCA has selected an All-America team every year since 1945. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the coaches themselves. The five teams now chosen for each AFCA division evolved from a single 11-player squad in 1945.
