SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Southern Conference named its football players of the week today for the games played on Saturday, September 4. The players of the week are selected by the league office and Georgia Southern's Adrian Mora was tabbed as the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Mora, a junior from Dalton, Ga., was responsible for 11 points in the Eagles' 48-3 victory over Savannah State. He connected on all five PATs, extending his career mark to 55-for-55, and was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts. Mora opened the Eagles 2010 season scoring with a 39-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. He then connected from 34 yards out with 18 seconds left in the second half to give GSU a 27-0 halftime advantage.
Mora earned SoCon special teams player of the week honors last season following the Wofford game on October 3, 2009. Mora hit a then-career best 48-yard field goal in the first half and then had a 50-yard field goal, for his longest career field goal, in the second half to help lift the Eagles to a 26-21 win.
