More Honors Pile Up for Scott

STATESBORO, Ga. - The awards for Defensive Player of the Week continued to pile up for junior cornerback Laron Scott on Monday (September 27) after he was honored as the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week. The Sports Network named the Warner Robins, Ga., native the winner for its Defensive Player of the Week award and the College Football Performance Awards selected Scott as its Defensive Back Performer of the Week.

Scott, who recorded six tackles in the 38-21 win over 11th-ranked Elon, also had an interception return for a touchdown and deflected another pass attempt into the hands of teammate E.J. Webb for another Eagle interception. Scott recorded two pass breakups in the game as well.
