Georgia Southern Holds Fifth Annual "Cheerleader for a Day" Camp Sept. 25th

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern cheerleaders will hold their annual "Cheerleader for a Day" camp on Saturday, September 25th, in conjunction with the Georgia Southern-Elon football game. Boys and girls ages four to 14 are invited to join the cheerleaders for the fifth annual event at Hanner Fieldhouse where they will learn cheers and band chants, take pictures with GUS and the Eagle cheerleaders and eat pizza before heading to Paulson Stadium. Prior to kickoff of the Eagles-Phoenix game, they will lead cheers and help form the tunnel for the Georgia Southern football team to run through.
Registration is open now and the cost for the camp is $35. The fee includes a ticket to the football game, T-shirt, pizza snack, temporary GSU tattoo and a picture with GUS. Each child should wear athletic attire including tennis shoes and athletic socks. The camp begins at 12 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse and runs for three hours. After the cheerleader coaching sessions, the future Eagle cheerleaders will enjoy pizza and take photos with GUS and the cheerleaders. At 3 p.m., parents must return to Hanner Fieldhouse to pick up their children. At 5:15 p.m., all campers who wish to participate in the pre-game festivities must be at the players' entrance at Paulson Stadium.
