Anaheim, Calif. - The National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) recognized the Georgia Southern University Athletics Department with a 2010 Silver award for its 2009 radio commercial for football season tickets. The award was presented last month at the NACMA annual convention in Anaheim, Calif.
Initiated in 2003, the NACMA Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. More than 650 entries were received for the 2009-2010 year.
The 2009 football season ticket commercial featured "Voice of the Eagles" Chris Blair reminding fans they had time to purchase tickets for the upcoming season. The 2008 football season ticket commercial earned bronze honors at last year's NACMA convention.
NACMA is the first organization of its kind to provide educational and networking opportunities; enhancement of acceptable operating standards and ethics; and establishment of the overall prestige and understanding of the profession of athletics marketing administrators. NACMA is administered by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), which is in its 45th year.
